Yield
1 serving (8 fluid ounces)
INGREDIENTS
PREPARATION METHOD
Matcha Base
½-1 teaspoon ceremonial-grade matcha powder
2 tablespoons hot water (approx.
175°F / 80°C)
Lemonade Base
¼ cup fresh lemon juice (approx. 1 large lemon)
1 cup cold water
2 tablespoons agave syrup
Garnish
Thinly sliced watermelon radish
½-1 teaspoon ceremonial-grade matcha powder
2 tablespoons hot water (approx.
175°F / 80°C)
Lemonade Base
¼ cup fresh lemon juice (approx. 1 large lemon)
1 cup cold water
2 tablespoons agave syrup
Garnish
Thinly sliced watermelon radish
1. Sift the matcha powder into a small bowl to remove clumps. Add the hot water and whisk vigorously in a “W” or “M” motion using a bamboo whisk (chasen) or handheld frother until smooth and foamy.
2. In a separate glass or pitcher, combine the fresh lemon juice, cold water, and agave (or your preferred sweetener). Stir well with a spoon until the agave syrup is completely dissolved.
3. Fill a tall serving glass with ice. Pour the lemonade mixture over the ice.
4. To create a layered look, slowly pour the prepared matcha over the back of the spoon into the lemonade. Alternatively, stir everything together immediately for a uniform emerald-green color.
5. Place a thinly sliced piece of watermelon radish along the inside rim of the glass.
