1½ cups brown sugar
1 tablespoon butter
Zest from one orange
Splash of Bourbon
Salt and pepper to taste

- Combine cranberries, brown sugar, and orange zest in a saucepan.
- Simmer mixture over medium-high heat until berries have broken down and the sauce is slightly thickened (about 20 minutes).
- Remove zest and then add the bourbon, butter, salt, and pepper, and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes more.
- Let cool and serve.
